Organically Reared Shetland Lamb

There is nothing like fresh lamb, and we think our Organically-Reared Shetland Lamb is extra-special. We specialize in Shetland lamb due to its succulent, distinctive, almost sweet flavour, very different from that of commercial sheep breeds. Shetland lamb marbles like fine beef, adding to its delicious juiciness.

Because Shetland lambs are slower-growing than their large, commercial cousins, the meat is more tender. Their smaller size also means that the professionally-butchered cuts of meat are perfect for individuals, couples and small families. We aren't interested in producing large catering-size commercial lambs - at Woodside, the emphasis is on quality and taste!

About Shetland Sheep

Shetland sheep are hardy, easy–lambing and thrive in the Highland climate. We lamb late so that our ewes do not require artificial feeds during the winter, and have plenty of fresh spring grass when the lambs arrive in the May sunshine - a better situation for all involved!

To Order

Our whole Organically-Reared Shetland Lamb is available each November/December, professionally butchered, bagged and freezer-ready. The typical pack includes two shoulders (boned and rolled), two legs (cut into two portions each), the full range of chops, spare ribs, shanks, minced flank, and portions for stewing/soup. Delivery is available in the local area.
