Organic Eggs

Our organic eggs are a great favourite, with bright yellow yolks and a lovely fresh "eggy" flavour that you simply won't find in supermarket eggs.

The secret is simple - lots of fresh air, sunshine, room to roam and first-class organic feed.

The hens are rotated between paddocks to keep the grass fresh, and live in small housing groups to avoid the social stress that can occur in commercial-sized housing. The hens always have access to food and water, and can go outside whenever they like. We believe that our hens should have natural, happy lives - after all, they are important "employees" of the croft, producing a steady supply of top-quality eggs all the year-round for our customers.

We were delighted to be chosen to supply eggs to Strathpeffer Primary School as part of the "Food-For-Life Program, to improve the quality of schools meals.

Our organic eggs are on sale at:

Munro's Butchers, The High Street, Dingwall. Munro's also sell a wide variety of very good local meat, cheeses, fish and condiments.

Cockburns' Butchers, 19 Mill Street, Dingwall. Well-known for their famous haggis.

Storehouse of Foulis, Evanton Road, Dingwall. The Storehouse also have a selection of local produce and giftware, and a very nice tearoom/cafe. Phone 01349-830038

Green Kite Shop, Strathpeffer (Victorian Station). The Green Kite is a Fair-Trade shop and stocks a wide variety of interesting items, both locally-made, and from all over the world. (Closed Mondays)

Highland Wholefoods, Unit 6, 13 Harbour Road, Inverness. An excellent source of organic foods

We also supply our lovely eggs to the Red Poppy Restaurant in the Strathpeffer Pavilion (well worth a visit); the Museum Tearoom at the Strathpeffer Victorian Station (delicious teas, coffees and home baking); and the Alexander Hotel on Ness Bank in Inverness (owners Graham and Fiona have lovingly restored this beautiful Georgian house on the riverfront, overlooking the Cathedral). You will also find our eggs in some of the tasty offerings from Su and Ruari at Gillies Fine Foods, based in Dingwall but now exporting all over the world.
