Welcome to Woodside Croft, our working organic croft located on the Heights above Strathpeffer in the Scottish Highlands. 

We produce organic eggs, organic Shetland lamb, and organic store cattle. We have been organic since 2000 and are committed to low-input, sustainable farming. Our animals thrive in a healthy, natural, chemical-free environment, and as a result the croft is home to a wide variety of birds, small mammals, and wildflowers.

EGG UPDATE DECEMBER 2009 : We have now stopped egg production in order to perform some much-needed maintenance on the henhouses over the winter and next spring. Depending upon the weather, we expect to have eggs back in the local shops by late Spring 2010. Many thanks to our loyal customers.

Our croft is also home to the Strathpeffer Spa Soap Company. We have been making lovely natural handmade soaps and bath products from our own recipes since 2003. Our gentle soaps contain no animal products and are free from artificial additives. We add loads of natural ingredients to care for your skin and hair—pure essential plant oils and fragrances, herbs, spices, seeds, petals, and natural minerals. In 2007 we began using organically certified base oils. Several widely-used soap-making oils can only be grown in a tropical environment - and we wanted to ensure that our soap is environmentally responsible and does not contribute to habitat destruction.

Your lamb is delivered to you in November/December 2009, professionally butchered, bagged in portions, and ready for the freezer. A typical freezer pack requires approximately one freezer drawer and includes: Two shoulders boned and rolled, two legs cut into two portions each, the full range of chops, spare ribs, minced flank, and portions for stewing and soup.
